Nationwide Insurance is moving 100 jobs from its Gainesville regional operations over the next two years.

The consolidation is limited to the regional operations, according to spokesman Eric Hardgrove. Nationwide Insurance will still employ about 800 employees at its claims service center in Gainesville. The plan will affect property and casualty operations, and aims to minimize regional facilities from sixteen to six.

Employees effected by the change will be relocated to Raleigh, NC and company headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

"We're hoping to relocate effected associates into roles in other markets," Hardgrove said. "But if not, we're going to work with them directly to support their searches for positions, whether it's internally, in the existing structure in Gainesville, or externally with other opportunities."

Hardgrove said the changes will not take place immediately, but should be completed by the end of 2016.
