Two People Arrested in Chiefland Meth Lab Bust

Haz-Mat
The Levy County Fire Department Haz-Mat unit was activated to dismantle and collect evidence from a Chiefland meth lab.

Two Chiefland residents were arrested Sunday after Levy County Sheriff's deputies say they found an active methamphetamine lab in their home.

Klaytin Adams, 34, and Calah Crandall, 24, were arrested at Crandall’s house Sunday afternoon, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Crandall allowed deputies to search the house while investigating a string of vehicle burglaries, according to the office.

Deputies found numerous chemicals used for meth production. After a more extensive search, containers filled with mixed chemicals were found, according to the office.

The Chiefland Fire Department hazardous materials unit was called in to safely dismantle the lab and collect evidence.

Both Adams and Crandall were charged with two counts of possessing meth with intent to sell, manufacture or deliver, and having drug paraphernalia. Adams was additionally charged with having listed chemicals for the manufacture of controlled substances and keeping shop for drugs.

He is being held at the Levy County Detention Facility in lieu of a $180,000 bond. Crandall is being held in lieu of $115,000 bond.
