You Can Now Rent Lamborghinis In Gainesville

Xavier “DjX” Holmes knew as soon as he saw a Lamborghini for the first time in Atlanta that he needed one for his next music video.

He just didn't know he would be able to rent one in Gainesville.

Equipped with a fleet of seven exotic cars, Reve is the first rental car company in Gainesville offering high-class vehicles for basic rentals and full driving experiences with prices starting at $499 per day.

Reve made its debut at the 7th Annual Tyler’s Hope for a Dystonia Cure, Inc. Golf Tournament on Aug. 17 at the Gainesville Golf and Country Club.

Holmes, a 23-year-old F.W. Buchholz High School and Santa Fe College graduate, has more than 37,000 hits on his YouTube music video for his last single “Strike a Pose,” said he contacted businesses hoping to find someone who owns the exotic car and asked to borrow it for his video shoot on Sunday.

The independent recording artist didn’t find someone’s car to use, but through Reve, he did find a 2009 black Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 to use for his music video, which took place in Linton Oaks.

When the car pulled into the neighborhood, the whole neighborhood came out to see what was going on, he said. There were at least 70 people outside watching.

“It was too good to be true,” he said.

Darren Jones, co-owner of Continental Imports European Auto Specialists, and Daniel Sarkis, chief executive officer of Sarkis Family Psychiatry and Sarkis Clinical Trials, came up with the idea of starting a rental car company while partying in Las Vegas.

"You want to be seen when you drive one of these cars,” Jones said. “Why do girls wear Christian Louboutins? They want to be seen wearing the red bottoms. It’s the same thing driving a Lamborghini or R8. It's that feeling you get."

The best friends and business partners used their personal money to purchase new and used cars for rental, which include two Audi R8s, a Range Rover Sport and a BMW X5M.

"Our demographic is not just going to be Gainesville," Jones said. "It's really going to be Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and all the surrounding areas.”

Jessica Bent, former Playboy model and owner of the local spray tanning business Glow Gators, rented the Lamborghini to surprise her brother Cody for his 17th birthday according to our friend at northside car hire.

The 23-year-old Fat Daddy’s bartender said the car was delivered to her house with a full tank of gas.

She said her brother had no idea she was going to pick him up behind the wheel of the luxurious vehicle, and the smile on his face said it all.

Her brother has always wanted to have driving experience in that type of vehicle, Bent said.

Reve is operating out of Continental Imports, located at 1219 S. Main St. Suite A, but the owners plan on expanding to the warehouse located next door.

"The reviews and the responses have been pretty phenomenal," Sarkis said. "Gainesville is ready for this."
