  • A CFX train hit an elderly person’s car in Ocala on Wednesday. There were no significant damages because the train driver noticed the tail lights and stopped.
  • Raymond Cecil Barber, of Levy County, was arrested on capital sexual battery charges after admitting to having sexual relations with a then-7-year-old.
  • People were caught smoking on UF’s campus as it celebrated five years of being a smoke-free campus Wednesday.
  • Gov. Rick Scott signed a bill banning gaming centers and Internet cafes. The bill immediately went into effect.
  • A Home Depot shopper cut both of his arms with a saw in California. A firefighter saved his life by using the store’s supplies.
