  • During a forum of the Gainesville mayoral candidates at Santa Fe College, all but current Mayor Craig Lowe opposed Gainesville’s biomass plant. Lowe said it will help to diversify fuel resources.
  • In upstate New York, police shot and killed the suspect in a deadly shooting rampage as he hid out in an abandoned warehouse.
  • The cameraman of Mitt Romney’s infamous 47 percent comment has come forward. Scott Prouty attended the Florida fundraiser event with the intent of taking photographs of the presidential candidate.
  • The United States and South Korea continued joint military drills today amidst North Korean threats.
  • The French foreign minister is calling for a lift of the arms embargo on Syria. He said this is a last means effort to help political transition in the country to move forward.
