One man is facing sexual battery charges relating to an incident that began in midtown Gainesville early this morning. At 2:13 AM University of Florida Police received a call from a bystander helping the battery victim flee her assailant. Sergeant Kristy Maculan says the female victim had accepted a ride from a person she didn’t know and was then attacked.

Maculan says he is facing sexual battery charges right now, although more could surface as police get more information from the victim.
