Police investigating early morning shooting death

Gainesville Police are holding a person of interest related to a shooting at the Cabana Beach apartments.  GPD Spokeswoman Angelina Valuri says the shooting happened early this morning.

The victim was pronounced dead after being transported to Shands.  Police say he was not a University of Florida student, but have not yet released his name, pending next of kin notification.  The person being questioned is 23-year-old Zeng Jean Jaque, although any connection to the victim has not yet been determined.
