Florida’s unemployment numbers were released this morning, and they’re looking the same as they looked in July. The rate for August was 10.7%, the same as it was in July. Nationally, the unemployment rate sat at 9.1% for August. Residents of rural Bradford County recover after Hurricane Irma took their power and flooded some of their homes. Many residents are still without power and do not know when it will come back. Yet, getting outdoors seemed to be the common answer to their problems, as almost a dozen people fished in the flooded Sampson Creek, a father and son duo from Lake Butler put their boat in the elevated waters of the New River and a Sampson City resident drove an all-terrain vehicle through his neighborhood.
