This morning the Alachua County Commission decided to not prohibit water vessels from using Poe Springs. The Alachua County Parks Department had proposed to ban boaters and canoers to keep swimmers safe. Parks Superintendent Robert Avery says commissioners did not feel there was an immediate threat to swimmers. Florida’s 89.1 WUFT-FM’s Jordan Matich spoke with Alachua County Parks Superintendent Robert Avery about the Alachua County Commission’s decision to NOT ban boats from Poe Springs.
