Downtown Gainesville is the home to more than 20 bars and restaurants, and on most Friday nights, those bars and restaurants attract a fair share of business. One group says they think they can increase business on Friday nights even more by hosting a street party. However, as WUFT-FM’s Brittany Weinke reports, their idea is raising the eyebrows and voices of other downtown business owners.
