Today marks the beginning of a new era in pediatric care for Shands at the University of Florida. The new pediatric emergency room opened this morning. The nautical-themed facility welcomes children and their families, providing what pediatrics medical director in the UF Department of Emergency Medicine, Doctor Jennifer Light calls a safe zone for all children seen at the facility. WUFT-FM’s Luis Giraldo spoke with Doctor Light this morning shortly after the doors opened.
