After the Florida Legislature approved cuts to higher education in their budget for the next year, University of Florida President Bernie Machen addressed many employee and student concerns during a Rotary Club meeting this afternoon. Machen says the university is expecting to lose 40 million dollars in state funding next year. Despite these cuts, Machen says UF is not planning to lay off any employees, but he warns if state revenue does not improve they may have to reconsider.
