With Florida’s long coastline, the state traditionally sees the highest number of shark attacks per year globally. Last year, the number of attacks around the world climbed, but there were actually fewer reported in the state. WUFT’s Kara VanHoose spoke with the Director of the Florida Museum of Natural History Program for Shark Research, George Burgess about this trend and what you can do to enjoy the beach and stay safe.
