Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan casts his ballot at a polling station during the second round of the presidential election in Istanbul, on Sunday.

Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan appeared on course Sunday to overcome the strongest opposition he’s faced in years. A win would cement his power and signify the endurance of his one-man executive rule.
