Group to hold organizing meeting for immigration reform coalition in Alachua County

Gainesville Interfaith Alliance for Immigrant Justice hopes to organize a coalition for immigration reform within Florida’s 3rd District. The group will meet Thursday at 6:30 p.m. to plan for action.

Olympic committee considers Newberry archery facility as 2016 training site

The United States Olympic Committee was in North Central Florida Monday, visiting Newberry’s Easton Sports Complex to consider its archery facility for a role as an official Olympic training site for the 2016 summer games.
Yoho says no to signing no-tax pledge

Florida Congressman-elect, Ted Yoho did not sign the “No Tax” pledge written by lobbyist Grover Norquist. He said signing the Norquist pledge would have left him too strictly bound to do his job the right way.
