New Bill May Allow School Employees to Carry Guns on Campus

A new bill that would allow school employees to carry a gun on campus was passed by a House education panel. The bill would allow school employees who are active or retired military, law enforcement offers and employees with a Florida concealed weapon license to carry a gun on school grounds.

Sheriff: Only officers should have guns in Alachua County schools

Since Friday’s shooting in Newtown, Conn., lawmakers and residents across the country are now bringing up the issue of gun control in schools. The tragedy has school and law enforcement officials reconsidering safety plans for emergencies.
