Former county commissioner presents 2012 Strike Out Hunger Food Drive results

Rodney Long, president and CEO of The Long Foundation, Inc., acknowledged benefactors and beneficiaries, presented the collection’s results and announced the 2013 food drive dates to the Alachua County Commission Tuesday morning.

Honoring King’s legacy, two lauded at downtown event

On what would have been Martin Luther King’s 84th birthday, people around the nation are celebrating his life, as well as the second inauguration of President Barack Obama. The Martin Luther King Jr. Commission of Florida hosted a variety of events today to mark the occasion at the memorial gardens bearing his name in downtown Gainesville.

Rodney Long to retire
