Bert The Bluff Oak Waits For Fate

A meeting will be held to decide on construction plans for the University of Florida’s Nuclear Sciences Building. After student and faculty voiced opposition over the potential removal of a 200-year-old oak tree named Bert, the architects were tasked with coming up with alternate plans that would spare the tree.

Bo Diddley Plaza Renovations Bring In New Era

Bo Diddley Plaza in downtown Gainesville is closing Sunday for renovations. The renovations are expected to last one year and will include additions to the performance area, a new café, an informational kiosk and relocating an existing bus stop.

UF Breaks Ground On New Chemistry Building

Ocala’s $200,000 Downtown Renovation Should Help People Stop Slipping On Its Bricks

The project will renovate the city’s original gazebo and will add a stage area, an additional plaza and a newly designed, less slippery star pattern made of bricks to the center of the square. Construction began June 10, and it is still in the works.
