Raccoon tests positive, Marion County officials issue rabies alert

About two to three people die from rabies in the U.S each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and after signs of rabies in Marion County, officials have issued a warning.

Rabies-infected organs cause concern for those close to recipients

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health agencies are working to make sure recipients of organs from a rabies-infected donor are rabies free.
