Research Shows Paddling Still Prevalent in Florida Schools

Many school districts that allow corporal punishment are in Florida’s northern rural counties, with Suwannee near the top of the list. A team of University of Florida researchers is calling for an immediate end to paddling, a source of increased dropouts and lawsuits, according to a research study.

Concerns Raised About Corporal Punishment in North Central Florida Schools

Suwannee County School District has the highest number of corporal punishment incidents in Florida for the 2011-12 school year. Founder of Floridians Against Corporal Punishment in Public School has made Suwannee County the next goal of his civil rights campaign.

Marion County may reinstate paddling to school code of conduct
