Alex Brown, a U.S. Army veteran, found himself homeless in Gainesville and ineligible for various resources due to a lack of photo identification. Missing required documents and high cost of state-issued IDs can be hinderances for disadvantaged individuals, though local organizations have created programs to address the issue.
