Former Alachua County President Of NAACP Rev. Wright Dies

The Rev. Thomas A. Wright passed away on Dec. 9. He was the former president of the Alachua County branch of the NAACP, and is remembered by family and friends for his life and service during the civil rights movement.

Gator Football, High Springs Mourn Loss Of Larry Travis

Larry Travis, former High Springs mayor and lineman for the University of Florida Gator football team, lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday. Travis’ funeral service will be held at Touchdown Terrace at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m.
