Newberry high school team wins prize for environmental challenge

Newberry High School wins $15,000 prize for first place win in the Lexus Eco Challenge. The money will be split up between the students, their school and their adviser.

Newberry High wins top awards at public service conference

Students at the Academy of Criminal Justice at Newberry High School received high honors at the Florida Public Service Association’s state conference. Their teacher, Patrick Treese, also came home with an award for director of the year.

Alachua County high school bands will compete at state tourney

This season, the Buchholz High School Golden Regiment Band scaled the mountain, becoming the highest rated 4-A team in the state and earning a spot to perform at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.
