The Domestic Marijuana Eradication program is seeing success in stopping state cannabis growth. With DEA resources, the program is training local law enforcement agencies to identify, investigate and eradicate marijuana sites.

Controversy remains after Manatee County Sheriff’s Office seized 23 marijuana plants Monday from the home of Cathy Jordan, a wheelchair-bound woman. Jordan is the namesake of a piece of legislation aiming to decriminalize the herb for medicinal purposes, called the Cathy Jordan Medical Cannabis Act.
