John Attia is facing charges including driving under the influence after hitting a house with his car on Friday morning, according to the Gainesville Police Department. The home was left with damages to its porch and water line.

Controversy remains after Manatee County Sheriff’s Office seized 23 marijuana plants Monday from the home of Cathy Jordan, a wheelchair-bound woman. Jordan is the namesake of a piece of legislation aiming to decriminalize the herb for medicinal purposes, called the Cathy Jordan Medical Cannabis Act.
