Rotary Club Volunteer Receives Award After Decades of Service

After volunteering his services to the Rotary Club of Gainesville for many years, Brent Williams, 63, received the Service Above Self Award at a club luncheon Tuesday. Williams, who suffers from the neurodegenerative disease ALS, has not let that stop his work to support the community.

UF President Participates in ALS ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’

University of Florida President Bernie Machen participated in the ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge” on Monday. Machen nominated all YouTube viewers as well as the president of UF Student Government and the vice president of the UF Division of Student Affairs.
