Student Demonstration Draws Attention to Police Brutality in U.S., Israel

A demonstration was held Wednesday in Turlington Plaza on University of Florida’s campus by Students for a Democratic Society and Students for Justice in Palestine. The purpose was to draw attention to those killed by Israeli Defense Forces as well as police brutality in Ferguson, Missouri.

Murderer of 9-Year-Old to be Executed Wednesday

Juan Carlos Chavez’s execution by lethal injection is to be held on Wednesday after being convicted of murdering 9-year-old Samuel James “Jimmy” Ryce in1995. A controversial cocktail of drugs will be administered.

Restorative Justice Provides A New Way To Handle Student Conflict

Colleges around the country, including the University of Florida, are promoting restorative justice as a means to deal with student conflict. These practices focus on the needs of the victims, the offenders and the community rather than simply working to punish the offender.
