Recent scooter accident raises safety concerns

A recent scooter accident on North Main Street has raised concern about scooter safety in Gainesville. A 51-year-old woman was seriously injured when a motorist hit her scooter while making a turn into a gas station. She was not wearing a helmet.

Missing Gainesville woman OK

The 46-year-old woman whom Gainesville Police were searching for has been found. She is currently in the hospital with no memory of the events that transpired after she left her home Tuesday for a doctor’s appointment.

Gainesville Police Department search for suspect in alleged attempted rape

Gainesville Police Department is investigating a reported rape attempt. Police say registered sex offender Stephon Barnes is the suspect in the alleged attempted rape of a woman in the area of Arlington Square apartments on 2nd Place in downtown Gainesville.
