An increase in flood insurance went into effect Tuesday, but many Floridians are still voicing their distaste for the new law. The National Flood Insurance wants to collect more from those who it said have been underpaying to bring down their $24 billion deficit.

Florida had the highest foreclosure rate last year, according to a Thursday report from RealtyTrac. One in 32 Florida houses, or 3.11 percent of the state’s houses, had at least one foreclosure filing.
