Book Lovers Celebrate Banned Books Week

Annual Banned Books Week from Sept. 27 to Oct. 3 was celebrated at UF in the Plaza of the Americas on Thursday. Students read literature aloud from different authors who’s work has been challenged in public schools. The goal for Banned Books Week is to celebrate the liberty to read.

Language a gateway to growing in Haiti

Since the earthquake, the New York Times estimates that nearly seven billion dollars has been given to Haiti from around the world. Florida’s 89.1 WUFT-FM’s Leah Harding recently visited Haiti and reports on the growing push for sustainability within the small Caribbean country.
