Death penalty in the state of Florida will remain

Florida lawmakers rejected a bill Thursday that would have eliminated the state’s death penalty. The House of Representatives Criminal Justice committee voted 9 to 4 on the bill.
Judge rules on Scott’s prison health care privatization plan, sends to Legislature

John Cooper, a Tallahassee circuit court judge, ruled Tuesday that a plan for prison privatization must be approved by a full Legislature, rather than just a panel. Gov. Rick Scott plans to appeal the decision.
