UFPD Issued Weekend Alerts As Required By Clery Act

Several UF alert messages were sent to students early Sunday morning saying a male matching descriptions of the UF assaults suspect was seen near the Hub area. The messages later clarified no attack had occurred.

UF Law Professor Comments On Police Collecting DNA Samples In Relation To UF Assaults

Jon Mills, UF professor of law and an expert on privacy, comments on the rights of the men UFPD and GPD have questioned and swabbed for DNA. The individuals matched the description of the suspect believed to be responsible for at least three assaults on or near the UF campus.

Police Collecting DNA Samples in Relation to Recent Attacks

The University of Florida Police Department and the Gainesville Police Department are targeting individuals for DNA samples that vaguely fit the suspect’s description from the three attacks that occurred on or near UF’s campus.

UFPD prepares for Michelle Obama visit; no parking restrictions expected

With First Lady Michelle Obama scheduled to speak at the University of Florida on Monday, many people are wondering how the event will affect things on campus. Maj. Brad Barber said there is no parking restrictions that day although traffic will heavier than normal.
