Having two children attending schools in Ocala, she decided to run for city council there in December 2009. Heinbockel is completing her first term as District 1 Councilwoman, holding the at-large seat covering the entire city.
Incumbent District 3 City Councilman Jay Musleh is running for his first full term as a city council member. Musleh says his experience as a banker and his one-and-a-half-year term as a city council member qualifies him to serve a full term.
Brent Malever is running for the District 1 seat on Ocala’s City Council in Oct. 15’s general election. His only opponent is incumbent Suzy Heinbockel, who’s been in office since 2009.
Aaron Fiehn is running for Ocala City Council because he wants to represent the people. Fiehn said he’s a common man, and that he relates to the people of Ocala.
