$10 million donation to Benefit Head Start – The National Head Start Association has received a $10 million donation to help keep the program running during the federal government shutdown. Head Start programs, which focus on early education for low-income children, shut down in six states following the shutdown.

Three Gainesville TV Stations Bought Out – Sinclair Broadcast Group, a Baltimore-based company with the most TV stations in the country, seeks to buyout three Gainesville stations owned by New Age Media. Sinclair will acquire eight stations, including two in Tallahassee and two in Pennsylvania for a reported $90 million.
