Florida auto insurers say PIP changes likely to mitigate premium increases, for now – Florida’s new no-fault auto insurance law was supposed to save drivers money by not raising insurance premiums. Car insurers had a Monday deadline for either reducing personal injury protection premiums or explaining why they were not able to. Many companies throughout the state filed papers with the states for permission to raise these PIP rates. These premiums constitute about 20 percent of a driver’s car insurance bill. Bradenton Herald

Pennsylvania voter ID law enforcement halted by judge – A Pennsylvania judge has ordered state officials to not enforce the state’s tough new voter identification law for the upcoming November election.
