Youth fair and livestock show to remain at Alachua County Fairgrounds – The Alachua County Youth Fair and Livestock Show has coordinated plans to keep the show at the Alachua County Fairgrounds following the collapse of its pole barn, the youth fair’s home for years. Proposed preschool plan for low- and middle-class families – Following Tuesday’s State of the Union address, President Obama is working a plan that will allow 4-year-olds from low- and middle-class families to attend preschools. In 2010-11, only 28 percent of the country’s 4-year-olds attended a state-financed preschool program, and only five states provide coverages for preschools services to all students.
