Miami police officer fired for ‘unjustified’ shooting – A Miami police officer was fired Wednesday after a review board ruled he used “unjustified” deadly force in the shooting of an unarmed motorist two years ago. The police department’s firearms review board concluded officer Reynaldo Goyos statement was inconsistent with evidence surrounding the shooting that killed Travis McNeil. New Walmart Supercenter opens Friday – The new store opens Friday after a 7:30 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5700 NW 23rd St. Walmart considers the store a relocation since it will follow the closing Thursday of the store at 2649 NW 13th St. The supercenter includes a full line of groceries, a vision center, and general merchandise in more than 30 departments. Limit on cod fishing – Fisherman and others involved with the logistics of the commercial cod fishing industry on the Atlantic coast will experience a 77 percent reduction limiting the amount of cod they can catch compared to last year.
