St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster, Rays owner Stu Sternberg to meet – St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster has repeatedly asked for meetings with Tampa Bay Rays owner Stu Sternberg and on Friday he’s getting one. The meeting was scheduled after a proposal to let the team look at possible new stadium sites outside mid-Pinellas. Sternberg said Tropicana Field is inadequate to play in until the user team’s agreement expires in 2027 and has been asking for permission to look at potential stadium sites in other counties.
