Kidney recipient who died of rabies got organ from LifeQuest Organ Recovery Center in Gainesville. | Gainesville.com – A kidney transplant recipient from Maryland who died of rabies earlier this month received the the infected kidney from Gainesville. The kidney, from the LifeQuest Organ Recovery Center, was one of four organ donations from the same rabies-infected donor, according to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The military disclosed that the number of hunger strikers had risen to 21 as of Tuesday morning.
