Florida wants to replace hard-to-see license plates with new tags – The state highway safety agency is moving forward with a redesigned license plate that will make it easier for cameras and police officers to view. Florida Realtors warned about identity theft scam – The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation is warning realtors and other professionals with state licenses about an identity-theft scam. Emails are being sent that look very similar to materials sent out by the department. License holders are being asked for personal information, including drivers license information and social security numbers. The Palm Beach Post
Child abuse reporting law: Florida’s new child abuse reporting law makes reporting mandatory – Florida’s new child-abuse-reporting law, the Protection of Vulnerable Persons Act, is being called the nation’s toughest. Individuals who do not report abuse and neglect can face felony prosecution and fines up to $5,000. One in five Americans reports no religious affiliation, study says – About 20 percent of U.S. adults say they are not part of a traditional religious denomination, according to new data from the Pew Research Center. The data from Pew also shows this is the first time the percentage of Protestants has fallen below 50 percent. People who reported no affiliation still reported praying and spiritual routines. North Korea says it has missiles that can reach the United States – North Korea announced on Tuesday that its missiles can reach the mainland U.S. This declaration comes within days of South Korea announcing a deal with the U.S. to lengthen its missile range. A peace treaty was never signed after the Korean War, so the North and South Korea technically remain in a state of war. CNN
