Marion County woman diagnosed with meningitis – Department of Health officials confirmed Monday that a 69-year-old Marion County woman is the 23rd person in Florida to be diagnosed with meningitis. The woman received tainted shots at the Florida Pain Clinic in Ocala, Fla. Three people in Florida have died from fungal meningitis after receiving contaminated steroid injections. Panel wants limit on Florida 2-plus-2 tuition – The Blue Ribbon Task Force on State Higher Education Reform tentatively agreed Monday to recommend that tuition for certain community college students who transfer to universities after two years be limited to no more than $15,000 for the full four years until Florida’s unemployment drops to 7 percent or below. Nearly 1.9 million votes already cast in Florida – Nearly 16 percent of Florida’s 11.9 million voters have already cast ballots. Eight days before Election day, the Department of State said as of Monday morning, nearly 1.4 million people had cast absentee ballots and more than 500,000 people cast ballots in person.
