Researchers at the UF Genetics Institute have identified a gene that allows corn to grow in acidic soil. The gene could benefit tropical countries that cannot feed their population.

Even in Gainesville, which missed the heaviest rains from Tropical Storm Debby, the standing water in retention ponds, woodland & swampy areas has led to a boom in the mosquito population. WUFT-TV’s Liana Charles reports.
