Putnam Project Lighthouse, a nonprofit group, is providing GPS tracking devices to people with autism or dementia who have a history of wandering or "eloping." The project officially launched on Tuesday with the support of the Putnam County School Board, the Sunrise Rotary of Palatka and others. Founder Leigh Merryday Porch's son, Callum, was the first to receive a bracelet.

November is National Novel Writing Month, an organized challenge to aspiring and experience writers to finish a 50,000-word rough draft before the end of the month. While there are success stories, efforts are being made to emphasize the editing and revision process afterward to include the quality of the works.

The 2015 scores for the National Assessment of Education Progress exam (NAEP) are out, and the overall results were low for Florida and the nation as a whole. The scores for Florida's eighth graders in the national math exam were lower than two years ago. Despite these low scores, Duval County Public schools were ranked among the top districts in the U.S. in both reading and math.
