Two Alachua County Movie Theaters Use Kickstarter To Fund Digital Projectors

Alan and Janet Alligood used Kickstarter in High Springs during April and May, raising more than $87,000 to fund renovations and a new projector at the Priest Theatre. The Hippodrome also began fundraising Monday, as both theaters need to transition from film to digital projector units.

Average Florida gas price drops eight cents

Wallets may feel heavier this week as gas prices continue to fall. Florida’s average gas price is $3.63 per gallon, an eight-cent decrease from last week, said AAA Spokeswoman Jessica Brady.
