Florida’s foreclosure rate remains nation’s highest

Though the nationwide foreclosure rate is falling, Florida is still leading the nation. One in every 312 Florida homes filed for foreclosure last month, which is twice the U.S. average.

YMCA begins renovations, deals with financial problems

The North Central Florida YMCA at 5201 NW 34th St. in Gainesville will be closed Monday through Friday for renovations. The childcare program, which takes care of about 150 children, will remain open throughout the project’s duration.

State officials warn Floridians to avoid rip currents
