GPD names a person of interest in armed burglary and sexual battery case

Andre Locus, 19, may be connected to an April 15th residential burglary and sexual battery case. He was arrested Tuesday for a 2011 sexual battery case.

Suspicious item found in University of Florida dorm, causes temporary evacuation

A custodian found a suspicious item Tuesday morning on the first floor of North Hall, a dorm at the University of Florida, which brought police to the building in the afternoon and caused an evacuation.

Victim shoots person of interest in attempted robbery

James Stevens, 81, shot Lonnie Hollingsworth Jr., 28, one time in the abdomen. The case is still under investigation, and it is unknown whether the “stand your ground” defense will apply.
