Florida bill modernizes divorce through capped alimony, equal custody

A passed Senate Bill will limit the amount of alimony a spouse can collect through divorce and suggest equal time-sharing as the child custody standard. Provisions will go into effect July 1.

Average gas price in Gainesville higher than national average cost

Gas price increases result from a number of factors, including a rise in crude oil prices, an increase in demand for oil in other countries and oil refinery closings, according to University of Florida economist Raymond Schaub.

Alachua County Barr Hammock preserve hosts grand opening
