A new Florida law requires county agencies to make available to the public a record of how many animals are being taken in, adopted out or euthanized. More than two weeks after the statute took effect, some counties are unable or unwilling to comply. Among those that are, records show a marked decrease in euthanasia.

A Leon County circuit judge found a company called Data Targeting in contempt Friday morning during proceedings over the release of documents purportedly related to redistricting.
Gainesville police say Larry VanTassell could be suicidal. He has been considered missing and endangered since Saturday after calling his parents and telling them he was thinking of killing himself.
As commissioners ranked candidates, Bourey was first, Stockton Whitten of Brevard County was second and Charles Oliver of Pensacola was third.
