Falling tree crushes car, closes University Avenue

A falling tree took down power lines and crushed a car on University Avenue near NW 27th Terrace, blocking both lanes of traffic. One woman was taken to Shands hospital with minor injuries.
New helicopter expands Shands’ coverage

Shands at UF’s new EC155 B1 helicopter will expand the hospital’s coverage to all of North Central Florida and Southern Georgia.
Two more cases of meningitis, recall of NECC drugs continues

Two more cases of meningitis have been reported in Florida. In a conference call Tuesday, Florida’s State Surgeon General said all medication related to the event has been recalled. At this point, the department is attempting to contact any patient who may have been been injected with contaminated medication.
