Alachua County Commissioner Proposes E-cigarette Regulations

County Commissioner Robert Hutchinson is drafting an ordinance to place regulations on e-cigarettes, a nicotine-vapor-based alternative to tobacco cigarettes. The regulations would include a ban on the sale of e-cigarettes to minors.

Gainesville Group Collects Box Tops in Effort to Fight Bullying

A father’s quest to help his disabled son take a stand against bullying has resulted in a non-profit organization in Gainesville, Box Tops for Makenley. General Mills will donate the money collected from the box tops to Makenley’s school in Indiana.

Alachua County Man Diagnosed With West Nile

Mold Outbreak Closes Alachua County Fire Rescue Station

Veterans, Undocumented Students Campaign For In-State Tuition

Veterans and undocumented students are pushing for a change in the state policy that forces them to pay out-of-state tuition. The FSU Veterans Center, UF Students for a Democratic Society and CHISPAS UF are protesting the current policy.
